a cup of tea?!

My Alessi teapot by Michael Graves was a gift from a friend some 25 years ago.
I still adore its classic design.

My current favorite tea is Lemon Ginger by Stash with a teaspoon of organic agave- it has a great kick!
What's your favorite?!

  1. I love your blog. We just moved to VA after living in Litchfield NH for 7 years and in Westford MA for 2 years before that. My heart is in New England. And definitely in NH. You hit it right on the money in your description of the area. I am happy that you have found your dream home there. Enjoy and thanks for sharing your journey.
    Fondly,
    A fellow NH Lover!

  2. Assam or Kenya in the AM, and a first flush Darjeeling in the Afternoon. Nothing like a good cup of tea!

  7. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your teapot. My favorite teas are any of the Mariage Freres teas but right now I am enjoying their Vert Provence. Just the fragrance of it when you open the can is heavenly. I have recently found a website which I will share that carries a large selection of these teas, www.markethallfoods.com. They are in CA and very nice to deal with. I have also ordered many other of their products, just so you know.

  8. My sister has that same tea pot! She got it for a wedding gift! I was so jealous of her when she got it and could never find one again! Now I laugh when I see it that I was so jealous! I like mint tea with milk or chai yum! I'm trying to like green tea because its so good for you. I'm not a ginger fan but my son loves lemon and giner, he might like yours!

  9. What a lovely tea kettle! It is adorable. I think I'd brew more tea with that beauty. My preferred brew is a cup of fresh ground coffee, but I will have to try the Lemon Ginger with the organic agave, like the sound of the kick. ; )

  10. Sweet tea pot and range too! Love the bird on the spout! I don't have a favorite tea, had a peach & black tea last week and it was nice. I love most anything with a lemon twist, so the lemon ginger sounds great!

  11. Lady Grey, without sugar, great in winter.
Earl Grey decaffeinated, in the evening.
    Beautiful your teapot.

  12. While I love a good cup of plain ole Orange Pekoe, my absolutely favorite tea is called Queen of Hearts. It is a marzapan flavored tea and it's divine!

  13. Funny I got myself an Alessi when we were first married and that kettle saw me through many many cups of coffee, cup of noodles and endless mugs of tea! My fave is mighty leaf tea in any flavor..they are my absolute faves!! Love tea.

  15. What a wonderful teapot! Looks brand new, too. Lemon Ginger is deliciously yummy. Currently, I'm partial to Organic Egyptian Licorice tea from Yogi Teas. I don't like licorice candy or vines but I love this tea! (In fact, I just went to the yogiproducts.com site and added a review for it - lol!)

  16. I love vanilla/almond when drinking hot tea. However, Arizona makes a green tea with ginseng that is wonderful over ice.

  17. Oh My Gosh!! I was thinking about that teapot that Jodi gave you just yesterday!! I am so glad you still have it!

  18. I love that teapot but I can't seem to take my eyes off of those red stove knobs! They're awesome! My current favorite tea is Pomegranate Green tea by Allegro: http://www.allegrocoffee.com/main/do/get_page/pageID/207
It's so fragrant and soft and perfect with a splash of milk and a sugar cube. If you don't like milk in your tea it's still great without it. :)

  20. I really enjoy sitting down and reading and being inspired by your posts. I once traveled to the east coast and fell in love. You have a beauty different than what I experience here in Colorado.
    Your tea choice sounds wonderful.
Here, I am enjoying Yogi Tea's Pomegranate. Very fitting for springtime.

Hope you have a beautiful and blessed Sunday!

  21. What an adorable tea kettle! Being a lover of all things tea related, thanks to my oldest daughter, I can appreciate how happy it would make you to use it everyday. My favorite tea is Ginger Peach by Republic of Tea, although it's hard to pick a favorite with so many great ones out there. I enjoy reading your blog!

  22. I love this touch of sleekness in your eclectic and lovely house! Mine's Earl Grey, preferably from Harney & Sons...

  23. Wow I didn't know those tea pots had been around for that long. I thought it was only in the past 5 years or so. They just featured Michael Graves in the April Traditional Home magazine. I was sad to see he's become bound to a wheel chair due to a spinal problem. His home is a reno of a warehouse.
Back on the subject of tea- I like the apple cinnamon flavored tea by Celestial Seasonings. I'm a coffee drinker at heart, but when I feel I want something unique or if I've got a cold my old favorite is that one!

  24. Hello, I'm a new fan. I just wanted to say what a wonderful friend to chose such a beautiful teapot! Also, I love your home - you have done a brilliant job - so inspiring. Regards

  26. Ha! Funny that you asked...I just sat down to the computer with my mug of herbal peppermint (Celestial Seasonings) with honey. But my go to is usually Earl Grey by Stash. Even the pups love to smell the tea bag packet, they are right there when I open it up!

  27. Something like Vanilla Caramel from Stash. I don't remember if this was the correct name of it or not. My mom loves tea and I snuck a cup of it and fell in love with it! Sadly, I can't seem to find it anywhere and it doesn't help that mom can't remember what tea I am talking about!! Back to your tea, I will have to try some. I LOVE hot tea and especially ones with a kick! Thanks for the suggestion!

  28. I have two:

Celestial Seasonings Sweet Coconut Thai Chai (Decaf) with a splash of milk is great in the evening.
And the BEST bagged black tea I've found is a store brand(!) Spartan Orange Pekoe (in MI). I tried it on a ski trip. It is much, much better than the big name teas and requires no sweetener, again just a splash of milk if I'm drinking it hot.

I have that Stash tea too. It IS really good.

  31. I have been ordering my tea from Boh Tea in Malaysia for years now and all because I fell in love with their Cameronian Gold Blend and their Earl Gray with Mandarin Orange which is to die for on a visit to my daughter in Kuala Lumpur. It is a great company to do business with and my husband orders it for me six boxes at a time as I love it hot or iced. Love your posts, thanks for sharing.

  35. ...I love homemade ginger tea, with added lemon (or lime). Otherwise iced green...agree with the agave! As a matter of fact we have SO much agave cactus, my goal this year is to figure out how to make my own syrup. maybe.

  36. I have that tea pot too and LOVE it! It's one of my favorite things! I love green tea and camomile, but being southern, I also enjoy a good glass of ice cold sweet tea! :)

  38. Gorgeous tea kettle, and it looks brand new! I also love Stash teas (herbal since I can't have caffeine). My favorite is Christmas Eve. Last year I couldn't find it in any of our grocery stores so I bought six boxes of it online!

  44. Chai Spice Black Tea by Stash. Add a little bit of French Vanilla Coffee Creamer (Liquid)...it sweetens and adds that wonderful creamy background -- delicious. I recently purchased the Lemon Ginger and will have to give it a try.
How do you keep your tea pot so shiny?
