Rotate, yes, but flip, no. After much research and testing, we settled on the Lady Englander line - they are not cheap but they will last you two and three times longer than any other out there. good luck!monicahamptonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07110538521254467779noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6005324767450032096.post-13294177523264280462011-05-14T15:37:56.643-04:002011-05-14T15:37:56.643-04:00Kingsdown mattresses are simply the best. He thinks it is too hard. It really bothers his back. We have had it for 10 years and it is still in great shape. I do think though that next time around we will get something different since he has endured this one for me for so long.

I LOVE having a King bed...it is what we have always had even as newlyweds in a cottage. It's fun to know that you've made the same kind of move! Thanks for the valuable info on the sheets! I loved your comment about the sheepskin electric blanket- I have never heard of that before, but is "perfectly" Aussie, and sounds dreamy!!for the love of a househttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13151787635612708698noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6005324767450032096.post-38785101523204565892009-02-06T04:18:00.000-05:002009-02-06T04:18:00.000-05:00Hi Joan - I'm visiting via another Aussie Vick...Hi Joan - I'm visiting via another Aussie Vicki Archer's blog. Bravo to you both for your courageous & exciting move! We did the same (although stayed in the same State) 3 yrs. ago & it's been a liberating & joyous experience - although we are renovating big time as well.

We've always had a King size bed & just love it! One caveat is to be very careful when buying sheet sets. We have a pillow-top, so when you add the mattress underlay & sheepskin electric blanket, you really need to measure the depth & take these with you when shopping. I've found you need to buy extra-deep fitted sheets or life becomes very challenging when it comes to the once-a-week linen change! Looking forward to visiting you again.
Millie ^_^Milliehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15408461724832141163noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6005324767450032096.post-77894709573066472342009-02-05T18:29:00.000-05:002009-02-05T18:29:00.000-05:00Have recently found your blog and am enjoying it v...Have recently found your blog and am enjoying it very much. I love what you are doing to the house and love NH. I have a Tempur-pedic bed and love it for sleeping. It took a week or so to get used to it,but miss it so much when I travel. Partners don't feel when the other person gets out of bed so that is nice. Some people don't like it for love making though, because...ahem it doesn't have bounce to it. When you purchase the mattress you have several months to return it if you don't like it.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6005324767450032096.post-73007152962162583732009-02-05T16:52:00.000-05:002009-02-05T16:52:00.000-05:00Our windows are Lepage, a Canadian company. They are all wood, two over two true divided light, but since I really haven't opened and closed them yet I'm just hoping we love them! The kitchen windows are all casement and the bathroom has casement and double hung (it's a long story!!) They are also making our french doors for the master bedroom and the kitchen.

Julia- Thank you so much for sending the bedding info- it was a real eye opener.

Jenny- That's too funny about Lucas! Such a man thing!!

Mary- You mean it will be OVER one day??? Promise?!!!! Hard to believe at this point...

Patti- Thank you for your sweet comment. Yes, you may have your very own bottle (served on the coveted hotel silver tray!), bubbles and tub! Oh and the much coveted linen sheets will be on the guest bed!! I had forgotten you and Bob always had the double bed... love you too!

Thank you all for your comments! j.for the love of a househttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13151787635612708698noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6005324767450032096.post-38468102903733549122009-02-05T15:07:00.000-05:002009-02-05T15:07:00.000-05:00Everything looks fabulous! When I come see you this summer, may I have my own bootle of wine, bubbles, and view in your bathtub?
No help on your king-size bed wish. You remember Bob and I slept on a double and loved every minute of it. I do know that they are more difficult to make-up. Actually, now that I think of it, go ahead and get one, and give me your linen sheets that I have coveted forever. They are not inexpensive, but very well (hand)made and without all the toxic chemicals that are in standard mattresses which was something important to us. (to justify the price I just kept dividing-- by year, months, nights, hours(!) we'd spend on it!!) I'll email you some info on them. That said, we tried it out in the store, but I haven't slept on it yet!

Dear husband and I are solidly queen bed people. We laugh that we lose one another in a king size bed! :) But yours sounds like a dream come true.

I LOVE the view from your windows. ahhhhhh

xo
jjuliahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12476594268224172588noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6005324767450032096.post-7443364253245660782009-02-05T01:38:00.000-05:002009-02-05T01:38:00.000-05:00Have recently found your wonderful blog!
