  3. That's great! I'm always trying to take photos like that, but they're not often that successful. The placement of the shadow on the chair back is perfect.

  5. ha! lovely. what a beautiful spot in a gorgeous room.
Joan, since you're an expert it would be great if you could do some antique tutorials. I am teaching myself through history of decorative arts, textiles etc books and I would LOVE to pick you brain. Don't know if you'd ever consider doing something like that?

    1. Sherry- you are doing the best thing in the world to start- to educate yourself through books and articles. Yes, I've been asked to do a post on how to start antiquing, and I've been slowly working on how I got started and what I did and some lessons I've learned along the way. Don't know when that post will show up, but I do think about it often;)

  13. It has a "Virgin Mary on Toast" quality to it. A cross-bearing, spiritual presence. And the painting seems to add some kind of relevance to the image. I see faces in clouds too - ha!

  14. Makes me think of the old giant box camera we made in Cub Scouts many moons ago... You'd sit inside it and see an inverted image on the far side of the box.

    Beautiful!!!

    Cheers,
    John

  15. I'm like Donna in that I see a spiritual significance. Christ on the cross, I am the vine, you are the branches, we hold these treasures in jars of clay, I am the light of the world. Biblical references. God has chosen you for something.
