to make you smile in the middle of the week!

I've been working for hours on another post, but today is one of those days when writer's block is instead a boulder, so instead I'll share this hysterically adorable pup that I saw yesterday!!!

Are you smiling yet?!

  1. So cute!
And I love how they have a seat cover on their passenger seat...but he steals the driver seat when they are gone! My dog does the SAME thing :)

  2. I was thinkin about you today, and your last post with Ella on the wheel...I had my dog with me today, and he is just so crazy, would never just sit there and wait for me....why I wonder, do I have such a crazy little dog? Yours seems so mellow...and so does this little dude as well...Oh, well.

  3. *Smiling!

Sometimes you just need to step away from the computer...I had one of those days not long ago. I'm sure your diligence will pay off though--we'll LOVE whatever you've been working on!

  5. Adorable! I love to unlock my doors with the clicker and watch my little black cockapoo pop up like a jack in the box! Dogs are so much fun!

  8. ...he looks just like any other male driver..."i am NOT lost...and i am NOT asking for directions"...(the female is inside asking for directions)...

  9. Okay, that dog looks exactly how I felt today!! Tired, in need of coffee, and waiting for inspiration (or just a pat on the head). Love it!!

  10. Joan,
I'm downright chuckling at that darling dog, clearly wondering when his master will be back.
P.S. good luck with your writers boulder...been there, done that! :-)

  12. He is too cute, and looks so heartbroken that his owner is gone. Nice headrest. Who wouldn't love dogs. Thanks for the smile.

  13. Your photos reminded me of the time I pulled into a Best Buy parking lot the weekend before Christmas. Someone left their dog alone in a late model Toyota and the dog was happily CHEWING THE DASHBOARD! He was really working it and pulling the plastic/vinyl off in long pieces. I cringed to think what the owner said when he/she returned to the car, but I'm sure it started with "Oh...!"

  14. Not only smiling, but laughing out loud! I love this post. This must be a dog thing. Whenever we leave our dog in the backseat of the car, we come back only to find that she has upgraded to "first class" (the front seat). And it's usually the driver's seat. Dogs must have a secret desire to drive a car!

  19. So funny...looks like he's bored, then a little annoyed. Makes me wonder if he spots his master and jumps back into "his" covered passenger seat. Or, maybe it's his turn to drive. ha

  20. The expression on the dogs face says it all - the patience and longing for his master. Too funny!

  21. Few things make me smile as quickly as seeing a dog in the driver's seat! Love these & the ones of Ella too. And so happy to see the windows of the car are down a bit! Can't stand to see dogs in a car with the windows up tight & no fresh air or fun smells to smell. Great pictures & great dog!

  22. That guy looks really bored. I bet if you stuck around (and his or her owner didn't show up) your next series of pictures would of been of him (or her) systematically chewing away on something(s) in the car...

Did you notice that the passenger seat is covered with a seat cover and the back seat is covered with a seat cover? Clearly they are not fit for a dog!!!!

    Cheers,
    John

  29. I am all too familiar with blogging writer's block. You did the right thing ... walking away and posting something fun till your muse returns.

Many years ago, our Labrador would hop into the driver's seat whenever I left him in the car. He'd watch for me to return, then hop to the back where he belonged.

I was thinking about you earlier this week. Our new dog reminds me a bit of Ella. It's not exactly how she looks, I just see some of Ella's expressions in Ruby. Give Ella a scritch from me.

  30. Don't you know that darlin' doggy is thinking, "You TOLD me we were going for a RIDE, then you leave me in the CAR??? Where did you go??"

  31. I am so glad you had writer's block. Yes, I am smiling at this dog at the wheel. How sweet, waiting for Master to return.

  33. OK I have to comment. These doggy driver photos are so adorable. And this fells is so cute, but he/she clearly does not have Ella's elegant posture and cool command of the road. ;) Thanks for the chuckles!

  34. He's probably thinking "dang, I left the keys in my other coat". So cute!

I hope the three of you are enjoying your snow day! Rick made it back yesterday since he was worried about how deep the snow would get. It's great because I didn't have to go out in this mess!

  41. Smiling !
Pup would sit up very straight, at attention, as if this is what that wheel meant him to do.
Although, he rarely moved from his spot in the back .. ahhh, to take a drive today with my Pup in the back, head out the window :)

  42. How cute! Now if only I could have that kind of patience when I am behind the wheel. ºÜº -Brenda-
