  11. Joan, this room is simply gorgeous! {as is the rest of the house!} I have fallen in love with one element I've come to notice throughout your home. All the rooms seem to have a beautiful {probably antique} oil painting in beautiful frames! I wish to incorporate this into my home. I love your house, and I keep coming back to your photos for reference while decorating my house! Thank you so much for the beautiful inspiration! I hope all is well!

    Hugs!

  14. Every space you guys do is absolutely perfect! I love seeing it all!

  15. Its all very beautiful....however being practical here...dont you use a rug outside the shower? I have a bathroom very similar to yours in color and I bought a 2x3 jute rug from World Market so folks can dry their feet before stepping onto the tile and possibly slipping. I think a small jute rug to that area would be perfect!

  22. If I was a guest in your home...you'd have to come looking for me.... cuz this is where I'd be! It's lovely!

We are getting ready to tear out our adjoining bathrooms this fall. Ouch! And begin again.

    Yours is just beautiful!!

  23. Ditto to all the other comments! I LOVE seeing all the rooms in your home, because every one is amazingly beautiful! So jealous of the floor. I wanted that in our master bathroom, but my mother talked me out of it. She didn't think I could keep it clean. I'm sure she was right, but I still love it :)

  24. Joan,
I love the simplicity and charm. the shower curtain is great...did you buy fabric and have it made, or was it a curtain panel you bought pre-made?
    Karen

P.S. I love the Renovation Style feature of your home.

  38. So fresh and easy on the eyes! Love the classic flooring and the wainscotting. The commode and sink look so nice nestled in the way you put them. Love the pattern of the fabric shower curtain too! The walls are the softest gray. What I like too is that you can pop any color in there that you want! That's when neutrals really pay off!

  51. I love it. A lot. Everything down to the shower curtain. The floors are stunning.

  52. Love the bath!! so nice to see this beautiful sink and toilet in a 'real' room, we looked at both in the showroom for our powder room remodel this year, but the sink was too big for our super tiny room, so went with the Kalista Hampstead 27" pedestal sink instead.

Your room is gorgeous and decor excellent once again! Thanks for sharing : )

  53. so beautiful. I love white bathrooms...the floor is gorgeous! And little pop of orange with flowers...perfect.

  54. That floor tile is great! I am coveting that tile because I bet it would hide a multitide of (lack of cleaning) sins... which, admittedly, my white hex tiles do NOT!!! Joan, if you have a spare moment, can you let me know the footprint dimensions of the angled shower in the guest bath? If it's too much trouble, I understand, but I am throwing around adding a little shower to the kids' bath - it only has a clawfoot and I am curious how large yours is. Your home is looking good, as always :)

  55. absolutely love your bit of orange.

great bathroom - you have lucky guests!

  56. Simple, and simply beautiful! The addition of the oil painting and the wonderful sconce truly makes it "your signature style". Thank you for sharing your lovely home. While vacationing in Newport, RI last week, I was able to walk to Walgreens and purchase the new RS. I thoroughly enjoyed the feature story and pics of your house!

  57. Bath is looking so pretty! I have to let you know I just read my issue of Renovation Home! Beautiful article but having read your blog the readers of the magazine are only getting the "cliff notes"... Thank you for the rescue of this wonderful home. I was lucky enough to be in Westport Ct. this weekend and photographed stone walls thinking about your beautiful entrance to your drive. Well done!!!

  60. Just beautiful...every detail is perfect! I love your Mt. Hood painting, it looks so pretty against the Mooshine, which by the way, is kind of funny being mentioned directly in the post prior to your whisky bottle finds in the forest (I loved that post)! ;)

  63. This floor is beautiful! What color grout did you use? It looks pale gray in the pictures, but it is hard to tell. My mosaic tile floor is grouted with white, and that was a huge mistake - every stain or bit of dirt shows, and that is particularly disgusting in a bathroom!

    Thank you :)
