Wow, everything you do is amazing! Thanks so much for sharing it. I especially like when you give the room details. It is all so inspiring. I look forward to reading your blog.
SO VERY BEAUTIFUL!!!! And LOVE that gorgeous art work! And love the windows with all the natural light they offer. Your guests won't ever want to leave. ; ) xoTrina
Joan, this room is simply gorgeous! {as is the rest of the house!} I have fallen in love with one element I've come to notice throughout your home. All the rooms seem to have a beautiful {probably antique} oil painting in beautiful frames! I wish to incorporate this into my home. I love your house, and I keep coming back to your photos for reference while decorating my house! Thank you so much for the beautiful inspiration! I hope all is well!
May I make a reservation???!!!! This is beautiful, as all that you do is! Love all the windows. Older homes have SO much character and sweet details! XO, Pinky
Its all very beautiful....however being practical here...dont you use a rug outside the shower? I have a bathroom very similar to yours in color and I bought a 2x3 jute rug from World Market so folks can dry their feet before stepping onto the tile and possibly slipping. I think a small jute rug to that area would be perfect!
Simple but so elegant, I think that best describes your entire home. Oh how I would love to be a guest at your home enjoying this lovely guest bath. Beautiful post.
Beautiful, Joan. I love how ALL of your spaces are so warm, serene and welcoming. The colors are exquisite, as is the style of everything from the flooring to the artwork. And where did you get the lovely shower curtain?
Ditto to all the other comments! I LOVE seeing all the rooms in your home, because every one is amazingly beautiful! So jealous of the floor. I wanted that in our master bathroom, but my mother talked me out of it. She didn't think I could keep it clean. I'm sure she was right, but I still love it :)
Joan, I love the simplicity and charm. the shower curtain is great...did you buy fabric and have it made, or was it a curtain panel you bought pre-made? Karen
P.S. I love the Renovation Style feature of your home.
I love the color of the mirror frame, the soft grays of the floor and shower curtain, the gorgeous flowers, and as always---your use of beautiful art--even in a bathroom! Lovely!!!
Joan, Dan, Ella: Serene; what a wonderful room. Love the floor, paint color, large window and treatment, beaded board, shower curtain, lighting,...all of it! Cindy
Wow Joan! You make even the smallest of spaces look amazing! The classic bead board and marble tile is timeless! I love all of the painting you have scatted throughout your entire house! You are my Bunny Williams!HA!
I love this bathroom! I have been meaning to comment, I love your story in Renovation Style! What a wonderful adventure. Looking forward to more of your renovations.
You have such a beautiful sense of style. The wall color with the tile, the small bouquet, the artwork...give us details! And thank you for sharing. Wish I could move in!
So fresh and easy on the eyes! Love the classic flooring and the wainscotting. The commode and sink look so nice nestled in the way you put them. Love the pattern of the fabric shower curtain too! The walls are the softest gray. What I like too is that you can pop any color in there that you want! That's when neutrals really pay off!
gorgeous. love the vintage style light fixture. i have the same sink fixture in my upstairs bath. actually posting about it tonight sometime. i have picked up the renovation style finally available in Canada, haven't read it yet but, boy do i plan to.
Love your attention to detail like the celadon pot and plant. Can you share what fabric you used for the shower curtain? Love it! I love to see art in the bathroom. Last, your marble floors are beautiful.
absolutlely perfect...this room says to your guests..."you are special...and i am glad your are here"...my favorites...the tile floor...the painting...and the sweet flowers...do i spy a pocket door...laney
I sound like a broken record, but your home is so gorgeous! The guest bath is lovely. I especially like the floor, the shower curtain, the sink and the green pottery vase! Very pretty indeed. Claudia
Really lovely bathroom you have created here. Beautiful choice of colour, heavenly marble tiles, wainscoting and all your decorative details. Lovely artwork and so gorgeous in its simplicity. Very inspiring.
Perfection!! Mind if I come and stay a while? ;-) Wonderful feature in RenoStyle... only thing missing was more Ella; she's like the cherry on top! Heidi @ Show Some Decor
Love the bath!! so nice to see this beautiful sink and toilet in a 'real' room, we looked at both in the showroom for our powder room remodel this year, but the sink was too big for our super tiny room, so went with the Kalista Hampstead 27" pedestal sink instead.
Your room is gorgeous and decor excellent once again! Thanks for sharing : )
That floor tile is great! I am coveting that tile because I bet it would hide a multitide of (lack of cleaning) sins... which, admittedly, my white hex tiles do NOT!!! Joan, if you have a spare moment, can you let me know the footprint dimensions of the angled shower in the guest bath? If it's too much trouble, I understand, but I am throwing around adding a little shower to the kids' bath - it only has a clawfoot and I am curious how large yours is. Your home is looking good, as always :)
Simple, and simply beautiful! The addition of the oil painting and the wonderful sconce truly makes it "your signature style". Thank you for sharing your lovely home. While vacationing in Newport, RI last week, I was able to walk to Walgreens and purchase the new RS. I thoroughly enjoyed the feature story and pics of your house!
Bath is looking so pretty! I have to let you know I just read my issue of Renovation Home! Beautiful article but having read your blog the readers of the magazine are only getting the "cliff notes"... Thank you for the rescue of this wonderful home. I was lucky enough to be in Westport Ct. this weekend and photographed stone walls thinking about your beautiful entrance to your drive. Well done!!!
Just beautiful...every detail is perfect! I love your Mt. Hood painting, it looks so pretty against the Mooshine, which by the way, is kind of funny being mentioned directly in the post prior to your whisky bottle finds in the forest (I loved that post)! ;) xo J~
Jeanine- If you click "newer post" underneath this comment box it will take you to the "details" post about the bath where I wrote about the shower curtain.
This floor is beautiful! What color grout did you use? It looks pale gray in the pictures, but it is hard to tell. My mosaic tile floor is grouted with white, and that was a huge mistake - every stain or bit of dirt shows, and that is particularly disgusting in a bathroom!
Welcome! Thank you for leaving a comment; you have no idea how much your comments inspire me to keep writing- I appreciate each and every one.
