Just love it. I want to do my whole farm house over now that I've seen what you've done. I have for SOOO long wanted to reupholster with linen - but three dogs make me hesitate. The kids are old enough to respect it now, but the dogs...? hmmm....

LOVE the way you recovered this chair. I would have never thought to do the back in alligator hide. Very interesting.

I was surprised to see this. I love it! I just reupholstered my dining room chairs the same way. Imagine my surprise when I saw yours. Of course my backs were leather not vintage alligator. :(

Hello new friend! I just discovered your blog and share your love of New England, love of pets, and love of design. I am deeply in envy of your kitchen fireplace...that brick is simply wonderful. Looking forward to following your adventures.

Love the 'gator back. :) I have a chair I bought at the Stoke-on-Trent Flea Market about 12 yrs ago that has yet been reupholstered, but soon...very soon. :)

Did you live in Europe or did you pick up lovelies during your travels? We lived in Belgium for three years. I miss it so much. :(

Looks great! Do you happen to have a snap shot of the cabinet behind the chair? I like the mix of items in there. I am getting ready to refill a similar cabinet and am looking for inspiration.

I have managed to furnish our little home with antiques I buy from Craigslist and refinish myself!, I always go to Craigslist first when we are searching for just the right piece...if that doesn't work we also have fun browsing Habitat Restores! Too much fun.
