I'll be right back!

A rare form of strep, a head cold, a pulled back muscle...... but the bad news is my laptop crashed- it was sitting on it's side on the floor, fell over and crashed! It's not a happy camper....so on that lovely note I bid you a brief adieu as I get well and get a new laptop...

until then I'll be snuggling with this lovebug!

Be well.

  1. Joan,
Get well soon. Being ill is no fun at all. Of course, snuggling with Ella will ease the pain!

    All best,

  7. Hope your feeling better soon. Not fun being sick. Thank you for letting us know of the safe haven the puppies are in, and that all is well with them in NH. I so wish all states would be so kind to animals as NH. My wish is for every human to love animals, to be kind to them, give them lots of love, food, water and shelter. I think that I love animals more than people. Some may not agree with me, and I'm sorry for that.

  9. Hi Joan and Dan,

Joan, sorry to hear you're not feeling well. It tends to hit you all at once, doesn't it. I agree with Vicki...get well first, computer second. Me (so glad you asked!!)have been busy with tradesman here. Yes, the skylight has been fixed. All leaks fixed, plasterer's in to replaster the damage the water had done, then painters in to repaint. I drop sheeted absolutely everything. I had glad wrap on things like the rangehood so the plaster dust didn't get into it and bubblewrap layers of that on the fridge, dishwasher etc., and it took me (no word of a lie) 2 1/2 hours to drop sheet everything. I can't tell you how relieved I am now that it's finished. The painters also painted the living room and the dining room the paint colour is slightly different to what I thought it would be and I have to wash the blinds and put those back up and I think it will make a difference to the colour. So now just waiting on a guy to come over and have a look at our wooden window frame, another leak that has gone on over time and I think the window seal will have to be replaced. I don't mind that in a sense 'cause I don't want to put in aluminium window frames to the house, I think it would loose some of it's charm. In saying that though, it doesn't have the charm of yours. It's a 1960's brick house and I would so love a weatherboard farm house, but never mind.....anyway before this turns into a 5 page letter I'd better go as there it stuff everywhere and I need to get everything back in order at least for my own sanity!!! Dan, how's that tractor going???? What do you do with her over winter??? Joan, hope you are feeling better soon.

  18. Joan,

Kind of off-topic, but the Anatolian Shepherd rescue is trying to find a home for this dog in Houston. Do you know of anyone in that area or the state who might be interested in fostering or adopting? I told the rescue I'd check around. Here is her link - she's quite a beauty: http://anatolianshepherdrescue.blogspot.com/2009/11/houston-texas-very-urgent-this-is-young.html

  19. What a shame I've had to pull the pin on Dr. MOTH's consulting sessions, I'm sure he'd do a house call in a flash! Actually Joan, I think it's very lucky for you his shingle has been pulled. Get well soon dear.

  20. Joan,
Scratch that earlier request. The dog I sent the link for has been taken down from the rescue blog.

Are you feeling better yet? We're having lovely weather here in the DC area and it's a welcome relief after all the rain last week.

    Hope you are feeling better.
