Joan! It is perfection...every detail is just gorgeous! I especially love the fabrics and the mix of all of them. I love it because it looks evolved and a room of collected and cherished things. I bet it's gorgeous in the evenings with a fire ~ you sure are one talented gal! :)
Absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!! Love, love, love your living room!! Thank you so much for posting these gorgeous pictures. I know all of your readers have been patiently waiting to see them.
Absolutely beautiful! You are such an inspiration and I look forward to any pictures I can experience of your lovely home. Thank you so much for sharing!
Simply Jen xo http://simplyanewbeginning.blogspot.com/
what a treat to finally see this space. it is so beautiful and so you. the photography is great too. i love the up close shots that show all the details. really well done.
You are just plain ELEGANT Joan. Love every detail. I have draped rosaries around one of my Santos too, so I love that detail in particular. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home. xo Ann
Joan, this is a room that I could sit in for hours and read a book or take a nap. My kind of room. It looks as if it took time and evolved. That is the best type of design. so lovely,Kathysue
So pretty, each detail is gorgeous and the room looks very comfortable too, a place where you'd want to hang out. The fireplace area is stunning, the driftwood in the urn is one of the most lovely things I've ever seen...and I love the painting on the mantel (and the fabric on the chair)...all just beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing this with us... xo J~
Very pretty! Elegant yet relaxed and comfortable. I like the neutral color scheme. And I love your front door! Great photos too. Thank you for sharing your home with us. Claudia
Absolutely beautiful. We have just started working on our own Farmhouse project in the Hudson Valley. Step one - "The Bunker" - turning that into our Guest House - where we will live until the Farmhouse is built. I look to you and your beautiful home for inspiration.
Really beautiful!! Love the sofa and especially the pair of chairs. And the urn of driftwood. And the pillows. And the chinese jars. And the statue. And the botanical pressings. And the big mirror with the chipped frame. Oh, and the basket under the end table. There might be more. I'll have to go back and look.
Beautiful and elegant. Your living room looks like it is right off the pages of a magazine! Love all the neutrals and the gorgeous art. Thanks for sharing!
It's beautiful and inviting all at the same time! I love how the light just comes right through that lamp in front of the window and the four prints by the fireplace are so neat!
I am not surprised to see another lovely, elegant room. You just keep putting together perfection! I love the pillows, lamps and the touch on Texas on the floor. Always exciting to see you have posted!
OMG, we think too much alike, our living room has dark floors, a sisal rug and cowhide down but I like it better in your living room. Your living room is beautiful (I spy your tortoise shell frames too) and I’m so glad you showed your tapestry pillows up close. It really shows how much you love your home, beautiful.
Gorgeous! I love it all. Love the beautiful dark wood floors, (we have them too). I keep going upo and down looking at all the pics over and over again. XO, Pinky
Beautiful. I love the fact that you've kept the windows simple, the beautiful mirror propped up against the wall, the basket of magazines. The fur pillow looks so comfy. Love your mantel painting (or is it a photograph?) as well. Beautiful pieces, beautifully put together. Thank you so much for showing us your taste and style. Such a treat.
It is really beautiful. It looks like home. Been back three times already today to gaze longingly at the pictures. And those chairs by the window...oh how I would like to be curled up in one with a book right now.
Your living room is beautiful! I love how the room is elegant and casual at the same time. I can picture myself plopping down on the sofa and going through your basket of magazines. Thanks for sharing your personal space with us!
Just another gorgeous, elegant charming room! What a gift for decor and design you have! What a wonderful sense of style! :) Hoping your home will be featured in a decor book someday very, very soon!
Ahhh, I just could just curl up in there with a cup of tea and a good book. How divine! My favorite touches are the demijohn lamp and the painting propped against your mirror. Simply lovely, Joan!
Such a lovely room. So much here I like. That green bottle lamp...the fireplace. Is the fireplace original to the house? Love the urn full of drift wood. Very very pretty. Your house is just done in such exquisite taste.
You've done a wonderful job. I especially love the fabrics you chose. My favorite part of the room is the window seating area. The table scape is lovely....Thank you for sharing it with us...k
It looks great. Last night I did a posting on how I want to add an animal hide rug to my living room! Also, I'd love to know the color on the walls. It looks very close to one I used in my foyer.
I love that you didn't put any words in this post, b/c none were needed!! How beautiful! You've got wonderful taste! I also love that the windows are bare, they are so gorgeous, curtains would have been a distraction!
Really really beautiful...I keep going back for another look. Lovely details all around, but absolutely love everything on the mantel and how it is arranged!
Your house is so danged beautiful I can hardly stand it. LOL Doesnt look like any farmhouses I've ever known. ;) Thanks for sharing the beauty & creativity in your life! :D
Wow, sorry I didn't see this sooner! I enjoyed seeing these pictures of your living room so much! You have such a flair...love the sticks in the urn! The layered mirror and picture on the mantel is perfect...the whole room is a treasure!
Hi Joan; So nice to meet you neighbor! I'm in nearby Massachusetts, we spend a lot of time in NH though. I'm thoroughly enjoying your blog and your story about your move from TX. I feel like it's still the weekend but then I remember I have to get back to work :) I'm your newest follower. If you have a minute, stop by and visit my blog anytime! I love your house, love your projects. Have a great day!
Holy moley, I just found your blog and I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE your home. It is stunning and very inspiring -- I most definitely will be returning to peep more of your gorgeous style!
I'm your newest stalker...er, um, I mean follower! Just loving your beautiful style. My home is traditional, but more English and Victorian with lots of color. I always admire rooms with little color but I know I couldn't live in one everyday...until I discovered your home! I'm mesmerized! Everything I've seen so far is really beautifully done with a timeless style that looks evolved and I love that!
...hey joan...somtimes on sunday afternoons i just meander around the farm house...this is may 20th...and i have just been spending some quiet time in the living room...i love the way the light is in this room...love and blessings laney
Would you mind posting some of the wall and trim paint color selections? I read the details of the guest bedroom but cannot find anything for the living room or kitchen. Very beautiful home!
I LOVE your beautiful home! I wanted to ask your fireplace. I read about the one in the master and the source for it, but i didnt see anything similar on their site? Style insert and log kit? What about the one in the dining room? Thank You!!
Tara, the fireplaces are both from Town and Country and the master is a TC30 with the Park Ave. Brick panels and Challet II burner kit. The dining room/kitchen fireplace is a TC36 See-Thru with the Park Ave. panels and the Lodgewood burner kit. (It appears they have changed the names of the panels and burner kits since we purchased ours, but the product looks to be the same as what we have.) Since both of these fireplaces are direct-vent, they do have glass on the front. The glass is a a non-glare ceramic glass that makes the glass disappear.
