Joan, Dan, and Ella: As always, your home looks beautiful. I love the simplicity of the natural decorations. Is that honeycomb that I see in the large pot? Enjoy the weekend, Cindy
What a great way to end my week... with a beautiful post from you! Your house looks great. Bet it's cooler in NH than it is in Texas. Have a great weekend.
We are Katie! We are getting our first freeze tonight. Depending on the source it is supposed to get to 27/28 degrees. Just a quick one night freeze though, as we then warm up into the 50's/60/s and 70's as highs over the next six days with no freezes during the night.
I love the photo at the top of this post, with the reflection of the glorious New England scenery in the glass. Lovely! It doesn't look much like fall here, but it sure feels like it on this gray and chilly day. You've inspired me to do a bit of fall decorating myself. I have a mantle and a raised hearth now - a perfect spot for a few pumpkins to set an autumn mood.
Joan, Loving all of your Fall pumpkins, Fun to see the falling leaves too! I just put on a pot of chicken soup for dinner tonight, with cornbread. So glad to see a little Fall weather in California, Finally!! Happy weekend, Kathysue
Joan, I just love everything you do. Simply beautiful. I love the last painting of the post. You have the most wonderful things.... When I can home from a hectic and stressful day I was so happy to see your post and truly enjoyed the visit. It is like a warm hug. Enjoy this beautiful weekend! Donna
LOVE that green one. I want to find one now for my coffee table which I will be getting tomorrow. All your pumpkins look great. have a good wekend and stay warm tomorrow!!!
Nothing says October like pumpkins. The quality of the sunlight, both indoors and out, is beautiful and really enhances these photos. --Road to Parnassus
PS: Thanks to seabluelee for pointing out that incredible reflection in the door windows.
As a fellow collector of vintage glass fishing floats, I love that you incorportaed that big one on your front porch with the pumpkins... it adds so much interest. I also adore the honeycomb! Happy Fall to you Joan!
The miniature white pumpkins lining your kitchen fireplace are darling! I love tucking pumpkins all around the house at this time of year. What's better than surrounding yourself with natural elements? But of course you know this, and execute it so beautifully.
The urn with the honey comb, moss and kale are not only a warm welcome to guests but it sings out that creativity surrounds your home. It's a great combination.
Joan, of course you would make pumpkins elegant!! What lovely touches to your home, and it's so simple :) Is that a new table in your...living room? Also, love the front porch arrangement!
hi jessica- it is not. We found it in France many years ago. Dan had assumed that I bought it to sell, but as was my m.o. I "walked" it through the house first. It immediately found a home in the living room in Dallas! I like its height (which a bit taller than a normal coffee table) with the sofa.
Now that is what I call a little seasonal embrace. Gathering and displaying pumpkins...so artfully arranged yet so natural. They truly do look right at home. Sending a package your way this week! pve
So beautiful. I love the contrast of the orange pumpkin with the white and black. So lovely. And then the small little ones inside are sweet. I love your home. xoxo Lisa Leeshideaway.blogspot.com
Hi Joan! Your home looks beautiful for fall. How I long to live somewhere I can actually set out pumpkins this time of year without them rotting out 5 minutes later. It's still in the 90's here! xo
Joan, I love those blueish gray pumpkins and the baby pumpkins on your mantle look wonderful. This is my favorite time of year, are the leaves on your trees turning yet? Karen
