  8. Great photo Joan! Took me a minute to figure out that it was in the snow. At first I thought it was swimming in the middle of carrara marble ... welcome back!

  9. I tried to include a comment the other day, but could never get into my google account, and finally gave up. When I looked at it yesterday, my daughter in law had changed to her blog, and, of course, my password would not work. Great to have you back!

  22. So happy to see you back again, and love that you are bringing back the calling card. I am not the best decorator, and I am on a very limited budget, but whenever making design choices, I have often wondered to myself, what would "fortheloveofahouse" do? Now, I looked at the pics of your mantel and saw the small Pottery Barn votives and was thrilled to find that I had used the same votives on my mantel this winter. Such a nice coincidence. I am looking forward to more of your posts. Welcome back!

  23. Welcome back. You were missed. I was looking back over your older posts, when I came to your kitchen, I fell in love. I am just starting to redo my kitchen and I want the same look you have. I too was thinking about soapstone countertops and was detered from using them because they are soft and will stain. That's why I passed on the black marble I originally wanted. Would you mind sharing the name of the place where you found yours. I was not aware that depending on where they are taken from they may be softer than other places. Also, how do you like your Wolf stove as I'm thinking that's what I may chose. And I have to tell you that I have an ongoing love affair with that fridge. OMG. Would have loved to have had that but my space will not allow. Thanks so much.

    1. I'm afraid I don't remember where they said the soapstone was quarried... sorry. And I LOVE my Wolf! I hate it when salespeople talk someone out of something they really want:(
