Since it tis the season for giving I have put together a month of giveaways for YOU as a
thank you for following and reading the blog. It's my way to say "thank you" and to let you know how much I appreciate your continued interest and support, and how grateful I am to those who take the time to leave comments.
It means so much to me to have you here.
And, on the seventh day.......
the Light Keeper Pro was invented!!!
I kid you not when I tell you this product is a Christmas miracle worker (not to mention a marriage saver;)!
Several days ago we unpacked all our Christmas lights only to be annoyed and frustrated trying to find that one bulb (or sometimes ten;) that was causing all our light strands, lighted wreaths and lighted garlands to have so many outages. I mentioned to Dan that maybe he could find some info online on how to repair them. What he found was a video on the Light Keeper Pro. We couldn't believe our eyes and went out that very day to buy one!

I won't go into all the details, but basically (per the website) Light Keeper Pro finds the defective bulb shunts that cause most light set failures. You simply plug the Light Keeper Pro into the light set and pull the trigger. A pulse is sent through the light set finding the bad bulb, fixes the shunt which allows the light set to work properly. (You can read more about how it works HERE.)
All you really need to know is that it is "magic"!
Watch the demonstration video HERE.
While it comes with written instructions, the videos are especially helpful, per Dan. I never read the directions or watched the videos, and only watched Dan use it several and I was still able to pick it up and and fix some strands myself!
You will love this product!
(I realize this sounds like an infomercial, but I am not receiving any compensation from this company. I just like to share my "favorite things"! (HERE)
There is also a LED repair kit!
Continuing on the blog with the season of giving...

This product is "green" in my book! It makes me a little sick to my stomach when I think about all the light strands I have thrown away over the years thinking they were dead. They probably all could have been saved if I had had the Light Keeper Pro.
Good luck!
The giveaway is now closed.
The LightKeeper Pro giveaway ended with 118 comments; however, three of those comments were responses to questions by LightKeeper Pro and two were email addresses that were forgotten in the original entry. That left a total number of true entries at 113.

Oh, I'd love to have one of these! We got LED lights last year and I live in fear that they will fritz out. Those babies are expensive!!

I am UN decorating my tree today. :(. It is a prelit and only 1/3 of it will light, the rest just blows fuses. It is a sad day here........my name is Michelle and my email is hollands4him@yahoo.com Just in case I win!
ReplyDeleteSo many times I have forgotten to check the light strands before I put them on the tree only to find out that some or a lot of them are out! This would be wonderful! Thanks for the opportunity to win!!!
ReplyDeleteI SO need this. Last night an entire strand of lights went out on my already decorated tree. I really don't want to un-decorate, pull the strand off, restring the lights, decorate again...you get the picture. Thanks for the chance to win one.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness I want one of those. I have been holding on to several decorative wreaths that don't light anymore in the hopes that one day I could get them to work again. Perhaps this tool will do the trick. Thanks Joan!!
ReplyDeleteThis is supercool! I would love to be able to fix all those light strands and light up the tree again!
ReplyDeleteYes, thank you!! I need this drastically! Great giveaway!

My daughter's door wreath is half lit and my sister's two outdoor trees are missing their light at their tops. We are indeed in need of the Light Keeper Pro.
ReplyDeleteWould love to have this. Thanks for the chance ! hollynelson4151@live.com
ReplyDeleteJoan,
ReplyDeleteThis is just what we need, our tree, after being decorated, had several bulbs go out. I've let it that way, not wanting to start over but if we could find the specific bulbs that are causing the problem, it would be a "miracle"...just in time for Christmas. :D
Karen
This would be so nice to have when the lights are not so nice. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteWell Hallelujah! The holidays are too short to be spent 'bad bulb hunting'! I'd rather be decorating and baking! Thank you for the awesome tip and the giveaway! Merry Christmas!!
ReplyDeleteWe've had a light problem for years - would love to win this so we could solve it!
ReplyDeleterivervujc@gmail.com
What a great idea! Sounds like a great Christmas present......
ReplyDeleteYou know, I've seen the ads for this, and wondered if it even worked. Thanks for the report...and the chance to win one! ;)
ReplyDeleteHello Joan, I think your next career should be as an advertising copyrighter--you can refer to this post for your portfolio.
ReplyDeleteI sure could have used this device when we had our huge Halloween parties, with innumerable strings of orange lights upstairs, and all green ones in the basement!
--Jim
What a great idea!! Wonder if it works on artificial pre lit trees as well??
ReplyDeleteYes, the LightKeeper Pro works great for pre-lit trees as well!
DeleteLike you, I have thrown away so many strings of lights - the net lights were the worst!
ReplyDeletelauren.archer@sympatico.ca
I wish I had one the other day! Found many of our strands were not working. Thank you for the chance to win one. jolie.carroll@comcast.net
ReplyDeleteThis is a great giveaway! I'd heard of it before, but glad to be reminded again. Thanks for the chance!
ReplyDeleteOh, I never knew there was such a thing! I too have gone through SO many light sets as I have decorated my home and many country clubs over the years.
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting this giveaway!
I better go and get all the light sets I just threw in the trash just in case I win!! Even if I don't win, I will own one of these gadgets before next Christmas. Thank you for always being so generous with your sources. Have a wonderful holiday. Terri
ReplyDeleteWoo hoo.....I so need one of these for our tree lights.
ReplyDeletewinpooh46@gmail.com
Every single one of my light strands has about 1/3 of the lights out, all together, right in the middle of the strand! I hope I win, but even if I don't I'll be picking one of these up! This will save me (well, my husband :) ) so much time and money!
ReplyDeleteI believe in magic!
ReplyDeleteWow, I did not realize such a great tool existed. Amazing, isn't it? Thanks for the opportunity to win this handy (and green) gadget, Joan. Happy holidays!
ReplyDeleteI'm kicking myself for throwing out all those half lit strings of lights in years past. I definitely need one of these magic tools.
ReplyDeleteI won't go into the gruesome details, but this year's Christmas tree light fiasco could have caused people to lose lives. This could possibly save my family from future raging light decorators. Not that IIIIII get angry about them, or anything. :)
ReplyDeleteLights are the woe in my Christmas. I've already had to untangle one strand of lights and replace them with another set on an already decorated tree!! Not FUN!!
ReplyDeleteThis is awesome! Just knowing this product is out there has lowered my blood pressure 20 points and quite possibly reduced my 2014 therapy bill. Whoever invented this deserves the Nobel...!
ReplyDeleteThis is magic, a marriage saver, a gift that truly brings joy to any household! It will put the "MERRY" back in Christmas in this house :}
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing about this great tool. Hope I get one from you. Thanks. heidilynette@sbcglobal.net
ReplyDeleteOoh...sign me up! Hubby went to put up our icicle lights the other day and wouldn't ya know...only about half of them worked. So we literally have lights dangling off our roof right now. Told him to take them down ASAP since it looks like we're total white trash. Maybe this will solve all our problems! ;)
ReplyDeleteSave the incandescents!
ReplyDeleteI stopped putting up lights after my painter brother pulled out all the nails and caulked up the holes.
ReplyDeleteWe prioritize in keeping your holidays bright, but attempt to assist wherever we can when it comes to safety and decorating! We know that there are clips sold at most major retailers that have seasonal sections that might convince you to hang lights from the roof again! I believe removable clips are available for indoor as well.
DeleteWhoa! My mind is blown. I have two strands that I know of right now I could use this on!
ReplyDeleteWhat?! I've never heard of this. Why aren't these things advertised all over the place? If I don't win one, I will most certainly have to buy one.
ReplyDeleteSuch a great idea!! Thank you for sharing it and for offering the opportunity to win one!
ReplyDeletegreat product! I'd choose the incandescent.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a fantastic product!! Thanks for doing a giveaway:)
ReplyDeleteI would pick the LED keeper, as we have switched to all LED's. Great to hear about this product!
ReplyDeleteUGH! Where was this a few days ago when I had four strands of partially lit lights and one full set out? :P One set went to the dump. The others are going to be bunched in greenery where it won't be noticeable. I ended up using the old looking colored lights on my tree. I'm kinda a "white" gal and I bought them a few years ago but just couldn't get into the color but I am enjoying them this year and am adding color elsewhere too. Off to get one of these!! Thanks for telling us about it and for the links. :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great product - I could use one of these!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe it! it's been done?? "green" yes!! please!! I abhor throwing away light strands when I just know there is a simple solution...! If this works, I do want one, I use lots of light strands all through the year not just Christmas, I keep them light on my fireplace mantle and use lots of white ones for Xmas Trees.....this would be cool if it worked! Thanks for the opportunity! blessings, lady.
ReplyDeleteI've just spent the last 2 hours trying to fix 3 sets of indoor lights!! Half the string works and the other is dead. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr..... I went online to buy one and all the local retail outlets are out of stock..... Help ME!!! I really need an LightKeeper Pro but quick!
ReplyDeleteEven if I don't win, I'd like to wish everyone out there a Happy Holiday Season :-)))))
shmilly@sympatico.ca
I have a much loved set of mini candle lights that stopped working 2 years ago that I haven't been able to part with! would love one!
ReplyDeletedjlfindlay@telus (dot) net
Presently only the bottom third of our tree is lit--there is a bulb SOMEWHERE that must be out, causing the rest to not light. Sounds like a great product so I'm going to look at the videos mentioned. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteIf you have any questions after watching the videos, we have technicians available 7 days a week between Thanksgiving and Christmas to assist at our toll free number: 888-858-2548.
DeleteOh how I would love one of these! I just went and bought new lights yesterday because the ones I bought last year don't work. This little gadget does sound like a miracle!
ReplyDeleteThis would be a brilliant help! I hate that moment when you plug everything in and -- bam -- one stupid string is out. Thank you for telling us about this. I've had testers before, but this sounds so much better!
ReplyDeleteSeriously! Where have you been all my life Light Keeper Pro? Suzi pblapere@att.net
ReplyDeleteWe are only 9 days into december and I've already changed out two strands of lights. This gadget sounds like a Godsend! I would love to have one!! LindaSonia (baddabinda@yahoo.com)
ReplyDeleteOne of these would save endless frustration and $$$! I would love one! adeusterman@hotmail.com
ReplyDeleteOh, the hours this tool would save!
ReplyDeleteEvery year I lay out our strings of lights down the length of a hall in our house and replace every burnt out bulb! And very so often we get a strand that just "dies," or partially "dies"... I'm guessing the Light Keeper would save me some time and effort. :)
ReplyDeleteOh how I would love to win! It would save hours of frustration!
ReplyDeleteAna Maria

Boy I'd love one of these! Pick me please!

ReplyDeleteCan you imagine the hours of frustration that we all could have saved through the many years of Christmas decorating had we had the Light Keeper Pro????? Thank you so much Joan for sharing this information with us and for the opportunity to win one!!!!! mlsumrall@comcast.net
Where was this 2 weeks ago? Ahhhh. My hubby will be so happy to know about this.
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I just went through the same thing!
ReplyDeleteWhat a handy thing to have! Especially for the LED light strings, which are more expensive!
ReplyDeleteI would love one of these. I can't tell you how many times, I've put lights on the tree only to find that one of the segments of one strand has stopped working. It's such a bummer.
ReplyDeleteThis is what I need now. My husband is trying to find the bad bulb on one of my trees now. I have never heard of these.
ReplyDeletejowyrosdick@yahoo.com
This has been a long time coming!!! Years and years of frustration gone---what a great invention!
ReplyDeletePJKINATL@HOTMAIL.com
forthelove.... Are you Psychic? I just threw a strand away yesterday!
ReplyDeleteRegards, Lisa

As a famous little curly haired girl once said, "Oh My Word"
ReplyDeleteI feel so ashamed to admit how many strands of green wired lights we have tossed over the years. THIS sounds like a gift to give as well as receive.
Thanks for sharing I always enjoy product reviews from bloggers who know.
Happy Holidays to you and yours
Just took my dogs out for a walk and found lots of lights out in the trees…HELP…I could really use that light keeper pro! debbie.e.monaco@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteI would love one of these for incandescent Christmas lights. A few years ago I brought a giant black trash bag filled with dead young light strands that I had saved for years,
ReplyDeleteto the Nashua Home Depot when they did a light recycle program. I bet many could have been saved. I am amazed at how quickly lights stop working, sometimes within the year. Thank you for offering this item! Lisa, plecslund@comcast.net
Does it work on pre-lit trees? if so I need one!!!
ReplyDeleteforgot to add my email kellyjwill22@gmail.com
DeleteI have thrown way too many strands of lights out over the years. Thanks, Nathan
ReplyDeleteWish we had known about this the other day when my hubby was annoyed and frustrated when hardly any of our outside lights would light!
ReplyDeleteI love gadgets! And especially ones like this! Thanks for the opportunity to enter.
ReplyDeletePerfect Timing!! Just walked through the Dining Room and one half of the lights are out on top of the hutch!!
ReplyDeleteBetsy
kgarrison59@att.net
It does cause some family friction. . . I, too, have thrown away several strands of lights because of difficulty in finding the bad apple!
ReplyDeleteI have procrastinated getting the lights out this very reason!!! Would love to WIN!!! bkeller0000@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteOh, I need this in my life! Half of our lights are out on our tree and I have decided to just live with it! Ugh This would be awesome!
ReplyDeleteIt's awful to see only half the lights lit up.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a great product - thanks for sharing your wonderful find! Hope I can win one...
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous product! I would LOVE to win! My biggest frustration with Christmas decorating is definitely pulling out my trees, wreaths, garland from previous years and find the lights are out! It takes so very long to unstring them, go purchase more lights, and restring. This would be a godsend to me! Thanks for the introduction!
ReplyDeleteWhy did I not know about this?? I just got rid of an expensive Christmas tree because I was sooo frustrated with finding the bad lights!
ReplyDeletetheresahartel@gmail.com
We just threw out a Christmas tree because we got frustrated. I will be buying one if I'm not lucky enough to win!
ReplyDeleteWe could have USED this while decorating! I also shudder to think of all the poor light strands I have thrown away! I'm terrified I won't be able to find the "normal" clear lights and I will be forced to buy the new LED lights that are just NOT Christmas-ie in my book! Thank you so much for finding this! Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteLauren Lewis
bamagirlnc@gmail.com
It's so frustrating to drag out all the strings of lights that worked when you packed them away and discover, somehow, they no longer work. Just what goes on in that box? It's even worse when they quit working once they've become part of the décor. This little device sounds like a miracle! Would love to have one!!
ReplyDeleteI'm with you in thinking of all the light strings I have thrown out…and I have a number of lights out right now. So, I hope I win. :)
ReplyDeleteLove your house and your posts. Also, it would be awesome to win a Light Keeper Pro to present to my DH, my light keeper pro. I, too, think of all the old Christmas lights in the landfills. Reuse. Repurpose. Recycle : ) forgot my email . . . lan.nan1@juno.com Thanks!
ReplyDeleteMan do I need this!! One strand is out of my prelit tree and this really bothers me. I hope I win!!!
ReplyDeleteJanet @ groth@cox.net
This is awesome! Oh how I could use one of these! Thank you for this generous giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI wish we found this two days ago before we threw out more lights! Thank you for the info. My husband was impressed!
ReplyDeleteWow, that is so cool!!! Thanks for sharing your favorite things!!!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas!!!
:)
Just in time - poor little Rudy the reindeer lights up no more!
ReplyDeleteGreat little product. Do you think the person who invented the string of lights that fails when one light is burnt out is the same person who invented the Light Keeper Pro.
ReplyDeleteWow! Didn't know this device existed. I could really use one of these.
ReplyDeleteKaren T.
jkg4121@att.net
This is one amazing little gadget.....I NEED IT! I know it is a lot of pressure to put on such a little tool, but I believe the Light Keeper Pro has the potential to save my marriage and my sanity.....Here's hoping.

I bought new lights this year before I even unpacked my Christmas boxes because I didn't want to deal with half lit strings - one if these tools will make resurrecting those strings fun! I might put my teenage son on it!
ReplyDeleteI bought a prelit tree this year! The height of laziness! It took a lot of pressure off and now I can enjoy the rest of the Christmas decorating, but this little tool looks very handy!
ReplyDeleteI have quite an investment in Christmas lights and every year I throw away more strings for the very reasons you have stated. I wish that I had known that the Light Keeper Pro existed!! Would love to have one.
ReplyDeleteSorry, that's sanditrussell@shaw.ca
DeleteWhat an incredible invention! We just tried to decorate our patio and of all of the strings of lights we have, only half the strand of each worked! We were so perplexed! Would love to have this!
ReplyDeleteamanda.elms@email.com
i have thrown away hundreds of lights. this sounds wonderful!!
ReplyDeleteOh. Says the woman who just threw away 5 strands. And used a few choice words.
ReplyDeleteMy coworker's husband used this to fix their lights. She said it was like she had a new tree. So happy to see this!
ReplyDeleteThis is so cool! We've got a few strands that would be great to "bring back to life" :-)
ReplyDeleteBought all new outdoor decorations after Christmas last year, only to find half working lights when ready to decorate this year. Would love to win.
ReplyDeletepistolis4562@bellsouth.net
ReplyDeleteOk...if you say this works, I will go for it! Heaven knows I've had my share of half lit lights!
jlengeslma@hotmail.com
ReplyDeleteI can't believe that I'm reading this post about fixing lights. It is about 11:30 in MI right now. I put my kids to bed at 8, folded laundry, and at 10 I decided that it was "now or never" to haul out the tree. The prelit tree. GORGEOUS one that I bought at Costco, and has never failed me. Until tonight. SO MANY BRANCHES NOT LIGHTING. I am so bummed. There was no AHHHH moment was I was done fluffing and bending every branch. The entire top section is out. I was deflated, ready to go to bed, and google series lighting in the morning. But before bed I decided I would quickly check a few blogs. And this is what I see!! I can't believe it. To be honest, I don't care if I win it or not, I'm going to get onE regardless. You just saved Christmas for me!! THANK YOU!!
An answer to Christmas light frustration! Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeletenosnorb@flash.net
Much to my dismay, our artificial pre- lit tree is only about 2 /3 lit this year. It would be so awesome if these lights could be repaired. This device sounds amazing, and I would love to win it!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great tool to have on hand! lmsmasal@hotmail.com
ReplyDeleteAMAZING!!! I hope to win this, but if not, I'm going to have one this year!!! Thanks Joan for finding this!!!
ReplyDeleteThis looks awesome. I have already thrown 3 light strands away this Christmas. pbmerrill@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness!!!! This is a must for Christmas decorating -- will get rid of the many hours of frustration. : )
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance!!
