Those jars are THE best. In addition to loving my lineup which is identical to Joan's, I've been giving them as year-round presents for over 30 years. In fact, just today I filled one and gave it as an Easter basket to the angel who does my hair - squished it full of excelsior with Reese's Peanut Butter Eggs strewn throughout, and left it on her front porch.

Congratulations on the mention. Yesterday was Mothers Day, and I realize, you don't mention children in your blog, except the furry variety. Not sure if you have them and don't mention them, or if for a variety of possible reasons you have not had children. I feel very clumsy right now. What I am trying to say is, a belated happy mothers day to your mother heart that nurtures those sweet creatures who are lucky enough to be adopted by you, and nurtures readers into finding their own ways to make a home. Cassandra, What a beautiful, beautiful comment. I do not have children. But have long acknowledged that I am a nurturer and a tender of all those I love. To describe it as a "mother's heart" is such a lovely thing. A gift to me, so thank you. I will cherish you last sentence.... xxojoan

There was a time when I could not have even pointed out New Hampshire on a map, not knowing where it exactly was, but here we are! In 2008, after living for 15 years in the beehive that is Dallas, Dan and I finally escaped and landed in a very small town in New Hampshire that doesn't even have a traffic light. Perfection! Our move was a huge risk, but it has paid off with dividends and we absolutely love it here. I think we are really Yankees at heart. If you've never been to New England I cannot describe it with adequate words, you really just have to experience it. It is like no other part of the country. Its beauty matches our beloved Colorado, Oregon, and Washington and its spirit (Live Free or Die) is reminiscent of Texas, and the people... well, we have found them to be most genuine. In essence... we feel as if we have arrived home!
