I didn't think it was possible to make this room even more inviting but I was wrong with the addition of more plants. The fabric on the sofa pillows is so beautiful and fresh looking for summer. Did you get a new brass tray leaning up against the barn door or did you polish all the brass?
I missed your posts and so very happy to see this one! Love the sense of peace and relaxation the room excudes - well done! Catherine from Southern Ontario, Canada
Perfect summer look. I see that is where you watch TV , I never noticed it on the wall before. My cats would love to hide under the giant shell. Really my older cat would when the younger much spunkier one would decide "time to play", he does torment her at times!
Love love love. Perfect design as always. I just moved into a new house and your barn room is my inspiration for decorating our family/fireplace room. Thanks for sharing!
I love when you share more photos of your beautiful home. I really study them and learn how to mix texture, pay attention to scale, and how to add the unexpected( your giant clamshell on the floor). Now I wonder which room do you spend the most time in when they are all so lovely! I would probably have to rotate every 15 minutes all day long so I could enjoy them all!
Absolutely beautiful! You are a master of making a room lovely, inviting, comfortable and fresh. Love all the details and will come back again and again. We just got back from vacation so I am "dressing" our house for summer too. This is such a fabulous room. I also am going to go try to follow you on Instagram. XO
Your finished beautiful New Hampshire home gives us much inspiration as we are in the throes of the loudest/messiest portion of our reno work here in Warner, NH. We haven't missed Houston for a single moment!
Joan, The light in the room is wonderful. It looks perfectly dressed for the warmer months of summer. I love the details on each of the tables. You have impeccable style! xo, Karen
I was so happy to see your post and have missed them. I can't even put into words how much I love your home and your style. I truly dream about it. I love when you take close up pictures of every single thing that you put on a table or anywhere. best regards, Wenda
Your barn room is my all-time favorite room in the world: spacious yet inviting. I love it dressed for summer or cozied up for winter. Even though I try, my attempts to recreate your style do not translate into your magical perfection. You have a gift.
Cool calm and collected! Love it...but that HUGE clam shell. Oh. If it ever needs to go to summer camp....of college in FL. I will happily open our home to it. :) So happy to *see* you my friend.
The room looks amazing. I'm especially drawn to the beautiful array of muted toned pillows. Can you mention where you got them? Would love to calm down our family room in a similar way. Thanks!
I especially love your vintner's table - it looks wonderful with the collection of treasure's on it. The room is bright and open with the summer sun coming in - very inviting.
So serene and airy. You are a master of "costume changes" for your rooms. I've adored this room in all the photos you've shared of it. And I'll add my voice to those who say they've missed you. Would love some pics of your garden this summer too!
This room is perfection, along with the rest of your home! Love the summer pillows and I look forward to a follow-up post with the details! Hope you are enjoying your summer!
Joan, Dan, and Ella! It was great to see a new post! I look forward to your updates. As always, your home is so welcoming. I hope you enjoy the weekend, Cindy
As always, just stunning!!! My very favorite house on ANY decorating blog! I would love to see a list of details. I love the placement of your furniture, does Dan watch TV from the sofa? I love the furniture placement but I can hear my hubby whining! :)
