  4. Hi - Joan! You are going to have lots of guests at this rate. Love the mirrors. Did you find them locally? I've been looking for a Louis Philippe style mirror like your second one, but they seem hard to come by around here.

  5. Hi Joan,
As always, this little corner of your home is so pretty. You have such exquisite taste - I adore the gold one and the layering has such an elegant but yet casual feel...good for a guest room.
Put me on the guest list!

I need to confess. I covet your home. There. I said it. Confession always helps, doesn't it?

  12. I'm so excited y'all are all coming to visit!!

Deborah- no, we didn't find them locally; the small one we found in Paris, and the gilt Louis we found at a antiques shop in Alabama!
But... I did see one last weekend locally. I will try to get a photo of it for you this weekend!

  15. So, so lovely! Remembering Daddy especially today. He would have been so proud of all you and Dan have done to this house making it a home. Wouldn't he have loved it?

  16. P.S. Isn't that your French mirror from the French lady at the flee market in France? Tell the story. It is such a wonderful touching story. I forgot some of it. All your pieces have a 'story' behind them. That's another thing that makes your treasures so special.

  17. Linda- Soooooo glad to have you back!

    Susan- Missing Daddy today too....
No, that mirror is larger and is in the living room! I will tell it's story though when I post pics. Sadly I can't find her photograph...

  18. I think when I come east in the fall, I need to talk hubby into driving instead of flying. The antiquing here in the Dallas area has gotten to be way overpriced and there seems to be nothing new in the shops. I think I need to try a new route, hence the driving. Unfortunately, he doesn't enjoy driving or antiquing at all!

  20. Given that you've got all these guests maybe we could meet down the road a piece and have a cocktail at the local restaurant lounge - husbands as well, of course! Love the chest of drawers but have eschewed all looking glasses for the duration.
