i love nyc!

I know you're thinking I must have become lost in NYC, but I'm actually home... just taking a bit of a break!

I absolutely loved NYC, and did express (several times) how I now want an apartment there!! It was a fabulous trip, and we're already making plans to go back. It is a mere 4 1/2 hour drive from our house!

Wicked was fantastic!! I laughed, I cried.... it was an amazing performance.

It was a perfect first visit to the Big Apple, and a perfect first Broadway performance.

Wishing you a fun and safe holiday weekend!

  1. Welcome home! I agree; NYC is one of my favorite cities. Mike had an assignment there; the company gave us an apt. on the Upper East side. How fortunate were we?! We had our home here, should Mike want to escape the city for a wkend; they flew me down whenever I wanted to go. We went to so many shows, museums, restaurants. Great city!
Thanksgiving Day is a great time there; I highly recommend it.

  2. Yes, a fabulous New York apartment sounds GREAT! I'll get one too and we'll meet up regularly for shows, shopping and eating!
Welcome home and so happy you and Dan had such a wonderful getaway to New York!

  3. I love New York also. We lived there for many years, my husband is a born and bred NYer.
It is time for us to go back for a visit .. we have all of our family there, we should not wait too long :)

  4. Having spent HS and College years in New York...gotta say it is one of my fave cities too! Such great energy!

    Welcome home!

  5. What a great time, Joan! And, you have the best of all worlds - the excitement of the city and the peace of your home when you grow tired of all that energy! So glad you had fun!!

  6. wonderful! looking forward to all the NYC, too, but just so darn far away....

  7. hi joanie,

my grandparents lived in ny city so we went often as children. most of memories involve cross-country trips in the car, humidity and subways. and guess what? i love them all.

so glad you had fun. get an apt. and i'll come visit.

  8. oh! i heart new york too!

and wicked. ahh! i've seen it like 6 times and loved it each and everytime!

    what a great experience!

  9. You've been out in the boonies so of course you want an apartment in NYC, as do we all. We should suggest a communal one. Find four friends and split it up! We all love country living, but after awhile, bright lights big city is a blast!

  10. So glad you had such a good time!!! I have been wanting to do a girls trip to NYC by train! It seems like such an exciting place to visit!

  11. Nothing like a trip to the Big Smoke to widen a gal's eyes dear Joan!
    Millie ^_^

  12. You and Dan are so lucky to be living such a wonderful DREAM life.. You are living it for all of us...The New York city trip sounds wonderful--until now, I never cared about going to NYC-- but maybe I would like it ??
I'm so glad you found that beautiful Waterfall
and it's so close to you to enjoy all the time..
I know Ella must feel she has died and gone to Heaven--being your and Dan's Dog (GIRL) and getting to go to all those wonderful places with you..She is a sweet lucky girl !!...
We are hoping for some of your cool air to comes South soon!!...Love to you both...Mama

  13. I saw Wicked on my first trip to NYC too!
I love New York too. I can't wait to go back. Maybe I'll visit you in your new apartment ;)
So glad you had such a great time.

  14. We vacation in the city every spring, and I love it there too! We're just a 7-hour drive, so it's not too far from home, but filled with inspiration and fun!
